Friday Wildflower Fix: In Kanangra-Boyd National Park

The challenge of walking 50km from Kanangra to Katoomba in a day was more than made up for by the perfect weather and delightful spring wildflowers blanketing the grey-green Aussie bush.

The route we took followed a series of ridge lines which trace modest lines above the spectacular limestone crags of Kanangra and the iconic sandstone cliffs of the Blue Mountains.  I spotted this flower as we began our descent down Strongleg, the first of two demanding spurs which saw us lose and regain about 1000m of vertical rise within a couple of kms.
